So I signed a 3 year contract this past March for a blackberry bold 9780. Just recently my phones screen died. Before I go any further , please note I NEVER dropped my phone , on the ground or water , and took VERY good care of it , after doing research MANY other have had their screens die unprovoked. So anyways I went to my local telus store , and sent my phone in for repairs and it will take up to 3 weeks , so in the mean time I have a crappy loaner phone. So when I got home I called Telus with questions . I asked the representative what will happen if they can't fix my phone. He told me that if I wanted a new phone from them , the rest of my current contract must be paid out , in other words , $12.50 per month left (which is over $300!). So basically , because their phone broke and it was 0% my fault , I must pay $300 If I want a new phone with them . Let's hope they can fix my phone , and if they can't , there is NO way I am paying a penny to scrap my contract , and will most likely switch to a BETTER service provider.

I hear you loud and clear, Telus workers are barin washed to sell to the consumers what telus views as correct, god forbid the consumer should ever have the option to go any where else, not that any where else is better, But I hope times are a changing with wind mobile and mobilicity.
In my case at 80 bucks a month fot a crappy blackberry, Im saving money by buying out my contract and investing in some one elses cell service, Bell, Roggers my play the same dumb tactics, but for sure I will buy the dam phone out right and go month to month.
