I am a Telus celluar customer.
The web site sucks. I had used it for a while to avoid paper, but switched back. At the time, logical places to click on to change your address didn't allow you to change your address (the best you could do is view your current address). Obvious text to click on is laid out in tiny type and is hard to see.
But on the other hand paper bills do not give me details of what calls actually went through my phone! Kind of important.
Just give me a goddamned detailed bill, preferably sent to my email. Is that too much to ask? Apparently so. Everytime I need to look up something, I have to do a fair bit of work to see what my bill is. I'm a compsci grad for pete's sake; I can only imagine how the less computer-literate are handling this.
The options on the main Telus site don't make it obvious what you should click on because some provinces have subcriber services other than the names you see. So you don't know what to click on because there are all sorts of funky names for other stuff you haven't seen before!
The IVR phone system when you call for support is horrible. It's a clunky AI-based system which drags on slowly. A rep told me Telus has gotten a lot of complaints, and that was already two years ago. I haven't been able to find a shortcut other than swearing at the IVR when it finally gets to the point that it listens to when you speak.
Telus also keeps jacking up the rates on LD, informing customers that their plans will change. Apparently I'm expected to keep to a contract, but Telus can do whatever the hell it wants and disregard the contract, changing the terms at will.
Another issue I've had is no service. I used to live very close to the campus of our province's largest University (in the city). At home, I would intermittently get 1 bar connection strength, which is not good enough to hold a call. Even outside of the house, on the street this would happen. Calls would get dropped all the time. On campus, connection was 1-2 bars, and most calls would get dropped. No reception inside buildings (don't bother trying to receive or make a call). I called customer service multiple times about this (I had just gotten the phone). When I told them they advertise the phone works in the city with excellent coverage, I was told "Telus does not guarantee reception".
Fuck you Telus. Go to hell.
