my area is serviced by telus SADLY
i cannot get highspeed internet due to the quality of the phone lines around here and they do not have plans to upgrade them (go figgure)
i cannot switch ISP's because they all use the same lines and the lines cannot support highspeed
any one know any way to get phoneline upgraded in alberta?

Does Shaw Cable operate in your area? They have nice high-speed service.
Also, if you're in an area covered by Bell's cellular service, I do believe they have an internet-anywhere product that basically you just plug into a wall outlet and your router, and voila!, instant over-the-air internet for something like $50/month.

to upgrade phone lines to fiberoptics sadly costs upwards of a billion + dollars. I don't think telus will be upgrading phone lines any time soon sadly, they're too cheap to spend their yearly profits to benefit their customers.
