I'll shorten the story for everyone convience.
2 years ago we got a Shaw ad in the mail, comparing Shaw's internet service to Telus's. My parents couldn't really tell/couldn't care less of the difference (which was fairly large). I took a look at it and was like WHAT!?!?
Apparently, when you sign up with Telus, they will NOT change your service... EVER. Now you'd think this is a good thing at first, but once you realize that the general trend for service/dollar ratio increases over time... you've already been ripped off $1000s of dollars.
We had 1/4 the stats of the Telus plan shown in the Shaw ad (which was already poor as it was).
We switched from Telus to Shaw... what a change!
1.5Mbits/s to 15Mbits/s (down) (up 1000%) 128kbits/s to 1Mbit/s (up) (up 800%) $79.99/month to $44.99/month (56% cost)
Jesus what a JOKE!
Oh and we've switched off Telus Home Phone as well as we actually have caller ID (free), still $10.00 cheaper as well.
