Just spent an hour on the phone with "Gord" from Telus. I called them to find out why they were still billing me after my contract was canceled 3 months ago. According to Gord I didn't give them 30 days notice and they would continue to bill me until they received something in writing. I told Gordo that I had already called them every month for the past three months requesting that my account be canceled. He said that he had no record of those calls. Telus employs liars and engage in legalized theft. To coin a phrase "I pity the fool" who signs a contract with Telus. It really is like dealing with Satan. Lucifer... err I mean Gord told me that he would ensure that I wouldn't get billed again and that my VISA card was removed from their system. I asked Gord to send me an e-mail to that effect. He refused. They basically hold all the cards. I'm supposed to believe that they will no longer bill me, with no proof that our conversation even took place. Fortunately I received good advice from my bank on how to handle these pricks in the future. Telus is run by thieves for thieves. I really can only wish them ill and hope that their CEO develops cancer and dies horribly. Then there would be some justice in this world! Telus "Go Fuck yourself"!!

Telus is almost as bad as BP as a company. Telus makes you wait and wait until you give up on hold. Incident: In a new housing complex. The builder crushed their conduit pipe in the ground. Telus cannot pull their wire through the pipe. The punch a hole in my neighbours and my house and run a jumper from their house - up the house to look like a power line and then punch a hole in my house and then wire a jumper to the box connections on my house so they can get power to the neighbours house 3 doors down. I came home and saw this disaster and tried calling. 40 minute wait. I call again and give up, now I'm really mad. I call the builder and they fix the pipe in the ground but say telus requires me to call.... What!!!! I did not even call them for this as I have all Shaw because Shaw is excellent. I see a truck from Telus on the street one day and tell them to get their damn line out of my house siding so they send a sub contractor (no even a telus rep). They take the line down and leave it in my alley way as a trip wire. I call and get put on hold and give up. I go out with a shovel and bury the line in the gravel. I come home a few weeks later and the line is on top of the gravel again. I am furious. I try calling again and on hold. I leave the wire to see if they will do something with it. It is now in Feb 2011, almost nine months since these pathetic losers puncture the house I almost trip on the wire going to my back yard. I finally tear the line out of the box by force and the next day they show up and leave optic TV brochures on my door. I tossed them out. TELUS DOES NOT CARE!!! The reason they have to give away Xboxes and camera's is so they can entice people to uses their horrible products and services. One company who pushes their crap even offered a helecopter ride if you sign up with them for cell and home services. Their TV spikes I know 3 people who have it and want out of their contracts because Telus does not know what they are doing. I HATE TELUS!!!!!

I agree that Telus is an unethical organization. In fact, their business practices appear worthy of the mafia to me.

I signed up for Telus internet in the summer of 2010. I was promised a down speed of 1.5 to 3.0. At first, my down load speed seemed to match that speed, but began to deteriorate a few weeks later. I called Telus tech support and informed them of this deteriorating service. I was told after being put on hold several times that there was nothing they could do to speed up my internet service. Clearly, I had been and was expected to continue to pay for less service than Telus was providing me with. On June 11, 2011, I called Telus and cancelled my internet "service". I was offered a price reduction which I declined and was then told that my internet service would be discontinued at midnight on June 11. After the postal strike, I received statement dated June 7 which said that I owed 0.00. The nest day, I received another statement dated June 7 which said I owed $76.92. I again called Telus and spoke to a person who said his name was "Malik" to complain about such a high bill since my service had been cancelled on June 11. Malik informed me that I hadn't given Telus 30 days notice and was being charge. for an extra month. Malik turned out to be the most sleezy person I have ever had the misfortune to attempt to deal with. Malik said that the person who took my cancellation should have informed me that I had to give 30 days notice or would be charge extra. When I said I was never so informed, He said they had no record of that. When I said I had been consistently provided with less service than I had been paying for, he ignored my statement. When I asked him about the June 7 statement that said I owed 0.00, he said they had no record of that. I consistently had the impression that he was trying to "put words into my mouth" - probably because he was recording our conversation. When we ended our conversation, Malik promised me that someone from "billing" would phone me back soon I never heard from anyone from Telus after that. Today, however, I did receive another statement billing me for failing to give them 30 days notice. I do not agree with other comments on "Telus Sucks" that Telus "holds all the cards". Let's unite and complain to MP's the CRTC, consumer organizatoins about Telus extortion. Also, lets do everything we can to ensure that communications customers are informed of honest providers!
