Ok, here is my story:
Back in October 2010, I went into Futureshop at Coquitlam Center Mall, and decided to get the brand new iPhone 4. Because I had no credit rating (no good, no bad, none at all), I had to put a deposit on the phone, $200. I was told that after a year, I would get that deposit back.
Well, coincidentally, just after a year has past, I am wondering where my deposit is, when I get TWO letters from Telus in the mail, both pertaining to my cell phone bill >> I owe them $124, and they want their money.
So, I call Telus, and I get some little Mexican or Hindu (I can't tell, here English is deplorable) girl on the phone in less than a minute. I ask what I owe, she tells me, and I say "well, just keep my deposit, and I will have a $70 credit left over". She says that there is NO RECORD of me paying a deposit to get the phone, they flat out deny it.
So, I call the Futureshop where I got the phone, and asked for a MANAGER, or a SUPERVISOR >> I get the complete runaround by some 18 year old little shitstain! Although he definitely agrees with me that a deposit IS NEEDED for the iPhone without a credit rating, he tells me that he is unable to pull up my purchase profile, that he doesn't have the authorization.
So, in a nutshell, both Telus and Futureshop are playing the 'dumb' card, neither one willing to admit that I paid a deposit to get this phone.
Oh well >> the phone was worth almost $800 when I got it a year ago, so I am keeping it, and Telus and Futureshop can go fuck themselves.
