Well 5yrs ago i set up a phone account for my for my ex as my child was living with her.This was set up with my name and sin #.Now i also had an active phone account at my residence using same name and sin#.The bill for her account went to her address and she was to pay it.Well it seems she never paid the bills.So 5 yrs to the date i come home and find my phone service cut off. Ive never missed paying a bill so i couldn't figure this out.So i phone Telus they tell me an account set up 5 yrs ago was unpaid and by crtc rules they can now cut off my phone service at my address.Now they did send me a letter 10 days before they cut it off but it was in a plain telus envelope,just like the other telus bills i get.I dont open my bills the same day they come in the mail.When i asked why it took 5 yrs to notify me she said they were backed up.So even though they know where i live because remember ive had an active account at my residence the whole time.And not only that i moved 16 months ago and hooked the phone up at my new house no problem.Not a mention of an outstanding bill.When i mention this to telus she said, oh well they shouldn't have hooked you up.The bill is for$ 292,half of that is interest.You draw your own conclusions.In my opinion they waiting a long as they could under crtc rules before sending me a bill or there just very incompetent.They also sent me a bill for the following month and when i phoned she seemed confused and unaware it was even cut off.
